The first thing is to flavor the olive oil. To do this, add the 2 cups of GOYA® Light Flavor Olive Oil to a frying pan and add the orange zest when hot. Let it fry for 10 minutes over a low heat so the flavor can properly infuse.
Remove from the heat and, when the olive oil is cool, strain it. Set aside.
Meanwhile, put the flour into a bowl in a volcano shape. Make a hole in the middle with your finger and add the cinnamon, sesame seeds, wine, water and a cup of the oil in which you fried the orange zest (keep the other cup).
Then mix with a wooden spoon and knead the mixture with your hands until you have a smooth dough you can work with.
Now, take small spoonfuls of dough and shape them into little balls. Roll them out with a rolling pin until they are long and flattened.
Fold the two edges toward the center and press a little so that they stick.
Now pour the flavored olive oil into a frying pan (if there is not enough, add little more olive oil). Peel the lemon and add the peel to the skillet when the oil is hot.
After a couple minutes, remove the lemon zest from the heat and fry the pestiños.
When they are golden colored, remove them from the pan and let them cool.
It is very important that they are completely cool before they are added to the syrup.
Put the honey and water into a saucepan and heat, stirring until it is mixed well.
Finally, turn off the heat and add the pestiños a few at a time. Let them sit for a while in the honey syrup and turn them over so that the syrup soaks in well on all sides and then remove them. Now the only thing left is for you to enjoy these delicious sweet treats!
