Torrijas Lactose Free Recipe!

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 slices of bread without lactose
  • 33 fl oz of milk without lactose
  • 3 organic eggs
  • 0.5 teaspoon of cinnamon on branch
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 1 the skin of a lemon
  • 0.6 lb of white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup Goya Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 the skin of an orange

PREPARATION

Put the milk with cinnamon, vanilla pod, lemon peel and orange in a saucepan on the heat and bring to the boil.

When it starts to boil, we will remove from the heat and let cool. We fill the milk.

Prepare a container that will serve to wet the bread chosen for the torrijas.

Beat the eggs until they foam a little and add two tablespoons of milk. We return to beat and place in another dish that is comfortable to dip the torrijas before frying.

We put a pan with extra virgin olive oil and heat over medium heat.

While the oil is heated we bathe the slices of bread in the milk. We turn it over so that it is well impregnated but not dripping and we go through the beaten egg that we have prepared. From there we directly pass the bread to the pan with hot olive oil.

Fry the torrijas on both sides until golden brown.

Remove to a dish with absorbent paper towels to remove excess olive oil.

Prepare a wide bowl with sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix well with a fork.

We will pass the torrijas by sugar and we´ll place on a tray.

Let cool and taste at room temperature or cold. You also add topping a little honey if you want!
